Long Beach Island is a barrier island about 7 miles off the Southern New Jersey Coast. A resort island, it literally teems with people during the summer and yet, during the winter, a very relaxed and almost sleepy pace exists. The difference between the two...and the pulse of the island as it "wakes up" during the spring and gets ready to "hibernate" during the winter is one of many attributes of living here year round.
