This is an old Portugese colony on the West Coast of India. The people are wonderful and warm to visitors. They describe themselfs as "Goans" and not Indian. The northern area is quite lush. While in the south it is much dryer. The architecture reflects it's portugese ancestry. There are several rivers, the principal river being the Mandovi.
